The Return of The Seed Shop & Notes From the Field

The hot and dry weather we experienced this season might not have been the best for many of the flowers and the green spaces up and down the country, or for the creeping anxiety about the climate, but it has certainly been amazing for the seeds this year; there has been a bumper seed crop from the field- the best yet.

As well as the seeds harvested from here, to get you all the very best varieties I’ve bought in a few of the prettiest varieties from a couple of trusted suppliers, and I think the collection is now the best it’s ever been.

One of the best things about the varieties in the seed shop is that they’re all easy to harvest your own seed from. I hope you’ll give it a try next Summer.

Let me know if you have any questions, and I’ll do my best to answer them for you.

Happy Growing!

Notes From The Field

The seasonal shift is upon us, cold and warm mingles in the air and the light is long and golden. It’s the time to reflect on the season and to look forward to the next. This Summer I became a mother for the first time, and showing baby Rex the garden for the first time was a moment I’ll never forget. The last few months have been a juggle of hospital stays and adjusting to a new normal, a handful of weddings have been flowered and From Seed To Bloom the book was launched, sold out and re-printed. It’s been a wild, extraordinary, scary and beautiful time- it’s a Summer I hope I will never forget, but it already feels blurred around the edges. So in this transitional moment, I’m happy that the nights will be closing in, that the baby will be sleeping for longer stretches, and that the garden will be put to bed. I hope you’re looking forward to this Autumn too.

Rex & I captured by my friend Lily

These last few months I’ve been learning many things, and it’s been one of the first times in my life where I’m really learning how to slow down properly- a hand forced by a difficult recovery period. I wouldn’t have been able to keep the business afloat if it hadn’t been for Paris Alma, another grower who lives locally who swooped in a few months ago and has helped pick up all the slack I’ve left. It started as a conversation to help me juggle the weddings this summer, and it has grown and shifted into so much more. She is really one of the very best growers I know, and has a passion for sweet peas that is nothing short of infectious. We have big plans afoot and I can’t wait to unfold it all and the beauty we have planned for you in the coming months.

In the meantime, here’s to all the things to look forward to,
